How We Keep Our Herd Healthy
Our cows are raised thoughtfully, ethically, and with their well-being in mind every single day. Healthy animals are the foundation of healthy beef, and we use preventive care to ensure their comfort and safety.
Vaccines
Our herd receives vaccines only when needed—comparable to how children receive vaccinations for illnesses like measles or polio. Young animals receive a “7-way vaccine” to protect against diseases such as Blackleg, a soil-borne illness grazing animals are susceptible to.
Antibiotics
We only use antibiotics when medically necessary and always under veterinary guidance. Our philosophy is simple: treat cattle with the same careful consideration we would give our own family.
Veterinary Oversight
We maintain a strong, active relationship with our veterinarian and follow all state agricultural regulations. If any practices were out of line, we would face formal penalties—we are proud to be in good standing.
USDA Inspected Beef
All our beef, including that offered through the Chapel Creek Farms Beef Share Program, is USDA-inspected. This means you can buy with complete confidence in its safety and quality.
